Student Outcomes
Literacy Partners operates on a continuous improvement model. Student learning gain targets are set annually in accordance with the New York State Education Department and the federal government. Benchmarks are raised each year.
Student Outcomes
Literacy Partners has an agency-wide commitment to assessment and outcome measurement. We utilize two testing systems: the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) for Adult Basic Education and GED; and BEST-Plus (Basic English Skills Test), used for Family Literacy/ESOL and ESOL. We conduct an annual outcomes assessment, analyzing student learning gains and other positive outcomes, such as gaining employment or opening a checking account. In addition, Literacy Partners uses a New York State established system of individualized student records to track primary and secondary goals and outcomes for each participant.
Student Learning Gains
The 2007-2008 academic year was a successful one for Literacy Partners. The overall student learning gains were on target, and in most cases well outscored New York State outcome measures. Literacy Partners is proud of our students and the work we have done to accomplish our goals and look to continue this success with aggressive plans for the future.
