Harlem Book Fair
This past summer LP connected students to inspirational literary experiences and impactful community involvement through participation in various events throughout the city. LP Students shined brightly reading publicly at two of New York City’s (NYC) most high profile literary events this summer – the Harlem Book Fair and the NYC Poetry Festival. You can learn more through this article published by Examiner! As a partner of the fifteenth annual Harlem Book Fair this past summer on July 19-20, 2013, Literacy Partners not only showcased student speakers but also helped bring recognition to the local adult literacy community by bringing students and volunteers to mingle with fair-goer’s and honoring the District’s City Council Member, Inez E. Dickens, for her work supporting adult learners. You can read more about LP’s involvement with the Harlem Book Fair here.
Annual Student Cultural Celebration
